The NBA mourns the passing of José Ortiz (1963-2026). Selected 15th overall in the 1987 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, José played parts of two seasons in the NBA, and played with Puerto Rico in four FIBA World Championships and four Olympic Games. We extend our deepest condolences to the Ortiz family.

Highly recommend the movie Jay Kelly. A movie full of perceptive themes about midlife reflection, the emptiness of celebrity culture, and the fragility of family ties. George Clooney gives an absolutely outstanding performance.

My son was in a club in Indio last night and someone started shooting up the place. He got hurt when he fell running from the place, but he’s okay otherwise. What kind of world have we created for our children?! We have failed future generations in an inexcusable way.

No, I’m not ready to discuss my future in skiing. My focus has been on recovering from my injury and getting back to normal life. I was already retired for 6 years and have an amazing life outside of skiing. It was incredible to be #1 in the world again at 41 years old and set new records in my sport, but at my age, I’m the only one that will decide my future. I don’t need anyone’s permission to do what makes me happy. Maybe that means racing again, maybe that doesn’t. Only time will tell. Please stop telling me what I should or should not do. I’ll let you know when I decide.
