@Process180 @Turbinetraveler Agreed the GE-9x is rhe most powerful jet engine ever built producing 134,000 lbs of thrust on the engine stand and can take that massive 777X almost vertical on take off and it has a lot of cargo room but the biggest reason is the airline knows what the fuel efficiency is -#1
English

@Turbinetraveler 747s are not fuel efficient compared with more modern large twin jet wide bodies like the 777 and 787/A350.

Atlas Air, the giant B747 operator, is about to switch to Airbus.
The cargo carrier has placed a landmark order for 20 Airbus A350F freighters — the largest order for the type so far — making Atlas the biggest customer.
A major shift for a company long synonymous with the Boeing 747 in global cargo operations.

@XF7Space @airandspace Yet the most POWERFUL ROCKET EVER BUILT DID NOT REMIND US OF THIS !!!!
The Saturn V never blew up EVER !!! The launch pad fire was deadly but different. The only event occurred was Apollo 13 and had we done some contingency stuff like Apollo we may have saved STS’107’s crew
English

@airandspace A powerful reminder of how unforgiving spaceflight is. The foam strike on Columbia’s left wing during launch damaged the thermal protection system, and during reentry hot plasma entered the wing. We honor the STS 107 crew and the lessons that made later flights safer.
English

Falling foam damaged the left wing leading edge of Space Shuttle Columbia during the STS-107 launch on #TDIH in 2003. The Shuttle and crew were lost on return on February 1.

@RonnieLStanley1 @AirPowerNEW1 This is not new knowledge been on the public domain for decades of this radar cross section test they even freeze the plane and look at its cross-section!

@AirPowerNEW1 And why are we sharing this information again?

Finland's first F-35 (MF-01) stepping into the spotlight at the Acceptance Test Facility (ATF) ahead of delivery. A 'building inside a building', the ATF is designed to verify and validate Low Observability before delivery and first flight. Every F-35 aircraft is required to go through the ATF for stealth verification before it is delivered to the customer. (📸Lockheed Martin)

@HancocksHalf @RealAirPower1 Well the deal is both are very heavy aircraft the f-22 is the heaviest modern fighter ( MTOW 83,000lbs ) and the f-15 EX ( 81,000lbs) but the eagle has more range and more ordnance yea we screwed up cutting the f-22 to 180 plus planes and no doubt the greatest fighter ever
English

@RealAirPower1 Slightly amusing that the F15 is in production and the aircraft designed to replace it - the F22 - is not 😊

@RAFAELdefense The US has had such technology for 40 years and you say Welcom now? How do we know the US has left misinformation if they are that far along weapons ??

IRON BEAM DELIVERED
Today marks a new era in air defense. Rafael has officially delivered the Iron Beam laser system to the IDF - the world's first operational high-power laser interceptor.
Iron Beam proved itself in extensive trials, successfully intercepting rockets, mortars, and UAVs. Now it joins Israel's multi-layered defense array alongside Iron Dome, David's Sling, and Arrow.
This is more than a technological breakthrough. It's a fundamental shift in the defense equation - maximum precision, superior efficiency, negligible cost per interception.
From vision to reality. Welcome to the laser era.
