🚨 Epic Responds to Ballistic Shutdown
After announcing Ballistic is being sunset, Tim Sweeney shared more context:
• These modes rely heavily on internal UE5 C++ systems
• UEFN doesn’t yet have the features needed to support games at that level
• Epic’s focus is on shipping those missing tools to creators

Sadly, I was laid off the other day. I was directly responsible for creating NAC servers in competitive, removing zero build tournaments on PC, the addition of Reload tournaments, managing prize pools in competitive, and tournament related bug fixes. I will miss working w/ Epic❤️

For example, did you know that hundreds of cosmetics were broken in Ch4S1? Almost all of which still have not been fixed? Me and some friends are working towards finding all the broken values, making a complete list of them, and creating scripting to automate fixing them.

Tim Sweeney has stated this in terms of the future for Fortnite:
What we now need to do is clear: build awesome Fortnite experiences with fresh seasonal content, gameplay, story, and live events; accelerate developer tools with greater stability and capability as we evolve from Unreal Engine 5 and UEFN to Unreal Engine 6. And we'll be kicking off the next generation of Epic with huge launch plans towards the end of the year.
