Lost in the mess of last nights utter debacle was another Don Kelly poor decision. Antwone Kelly was dealing. 3 scoreless innings. And he was removed from the game after being given a 2-run lead. Why not just let him start the 8th? I get there’s not many buttons to press with the bullpen, but the guy who is responsible to press the buttons, seems to find a way to hit the wrong one more times than not.

Total BS: Don Kelly said he doesn’t know what happened on the Gonzales miscue at 3B. Says he has to watch the replay. Replay? Seriously. It was one of the most absurd decisions I’ve ever seen a fielder make.

So many issues with this. 1) Any explanation that isn’t related to an injury in this scenario is just plain filibustering around the truth. In the most honest way possible, I have no clue what this is. I’ve never heard it in my life. It’s July 30th and you’re in the heat of a playoff race. There was a time where relief pitchers were stretched for 6 out saves at this point in the season. Manage with some intensity and take some accountability. You never hear a “I should’ve left him in.” It’s always a “well… BLAH BLAH BLAH” 2) I have entirely no idea who invented the word “ups” to replace “innings”, but using “ups” doesn’t justify his faulty decision making here. Seven pitches is seven pitches. Who cares if he had 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 “ups”. He had SEVEN PITCHES DON! I’ve heard of tag up, changeup, pop up, who’s up… who cares about “ups” … I DON’T !!!
