@AviSchiffmann I'm considerably older than you and EVERY SINGLE PRESIDENT in my lifetime has talked about being "proud to be an American" What ARE they teaching you kids in schools these days?

as a 22 y/o it's weird to have a president that feels proud to be American, whether you agree with him or not my only perception of Obama is that he was good at giving speeches, is known for bombing children, named healthcare after himself, and was on hour of code posters in my middle school. Biden never existed.

Whereas "getting used to the problem" is more of a grim survival mentality. Like -- wow, this sucks, but apparently we can't do anything about it other than try to navigate our way through hell and avoid the demons.

That said, I think "getting used to the problem" in this context is a little different from "acceptance" which sort of implies a zen "this is okay, really" attitude, maybe a slightly delusional "oh, it's probably not going to be THAT bad"

there's nothing cool about trump the only thing he has is "so cringe he might approach cool from the other side" which also ONLY works for him, everyone else imitating his style just stops at cringe

This reasoning is so motivated it's at the gym at 4AM.

And they think that if they just elect the right person, and give him enough power, that person will bring back the good jobs You know, and I know, that he will do no such thing But still, that's what they want They want SOMEBODY to bring back the good jobs

People don't want a better safety net They don't want a safety net at all They want a job-to-expenses ratio that means they don't need a safety net
