@wideawake_media @LMorganEdwards Hmmm. I guess the people who were buried in the mass graves were volunteer actors.

Neil Oliver: "There was no pandemic."
"What we ended up with was a pandemic of testing, with the misapplication of PCR tests that were never designed, according to their designer, to be used as diagnostic tools."
"They simply took an opportunity to do something that they were planning to do anyway, which was to use a pandemic to seize control of people's freedom, and their money—the biggest transfer of wealth in history."
"If we had a pandemic of anything, it was a pandemic of propaganda, a pandemic of lies and a pandemic of testing."

@SadhbhO @IrishTimes @guardian As a vegetarian of over 20 years, I can say that that's a load of bollocks! Ultra-processed food is bad for you, end of. Meat alternatives are ultra-processed food.
English

Nice to see the @IrishTimes and @guardian lifestyle pages highlight research that shows plant-based alternatives to meat are better for the planet and mostly healthier than products such as burgers and sausages made from animals. 👍

The panic that is about to hit when the public finally understands this is real and how politicians and media have failed us on an unimaginable scale bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

@AlexBlokPi2539 @whittledaway We need to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030, not peak by 2030.
English

@whittledaway Don't get too despondent. Slowly, like with cars, there will be a migration to electric aircraft, with short haul the initial market, then long range electric/hydrogen aircraft over the next 20 years. Many in development now. The era of the conventional airliner will peak 2030.
English

The pollution from flying is much worse than is usually reported. Plus, it's the only sector that's planning on *increasing* emissions in the coming decades!

Words fail. Not enough to take direct@Ryanair sponsorship, now @tcddublin has just appointed a “CRH Chair of #Climate Science”, sponsored by, you’ve guessed it, one of Ireland’s top carbon polluters.

@maxx_keane @SadhbhO @IrishTimes There is plenty evidence for it. You will have no difficulty finding it
English

@SadhbhO @IrishTimes Has anyone proved a link between Co2 emissions and climate change, I thought carbon was good after all were are all made of it.
English

This is one of the most important articles published by the @IrishTimes about climate change, food production and sustainability that you will read this year. Bookmark it. Save it. If Mark Kelly is right we're in big trouble.

@Richdublin @whittledaway No single country can affect the climate on its own. It requires all countries to reduce GHG emissions as quickly and justly as possible, especially high emitting, wealthy countries like Ireland.
English

@whittledaway If every person in Ireland had a zero carbon footprint what would the effects be on the climate?
English

all the arguments saying "the planes fly whether there are people on them or not" are designed, like all climate inactivist tropes, to tell people that their personal actions don't matter, and that individuals have no power, which is entirely false
Flight Free UK@FlightFreeUK
@Fergaltierney @whittledaway The aviation industry works on supply and demand. No demand = no supply. One person's decision not to fly won't ground that particular plane, but long term, as fewer people fly, fewer planes will take off.
English

@SPhone568 @NicholasDCarter There is no suggestion that they stop producing food, merely that they produce it more sustainably. They can increase food production and comply with these measures.
English

@NicholasDCarter So stop producing food? Seems like a shitty plan.
English

€700M just approved for Dutch farmers to stop their livestock farming in priority areas and rewild
This is a smart way forward to support farmers to drawdown carbon & restore biodiversity that financially (& intrinsically) is worth more in the long run.

@darraghwo @think_or_swim VW strongly advise against charging more than 80% to maximise battery life. This reduces day to day range but for long journeys you can charge to 100%.
English

@mclauli @think_or_swim Yeah, that's fair. It seems to very much depend on how the battery is used. 10 years may a bit negative but is within the range of the Hyundai study mentioned on the SEAI website
seai.ie/blog/understan….

English

@darraghwo @think_or_swim How does 2% p.a end up with a battery life of 10 years? The battery will last as long as the car albeit with a reduced range in later years.
English

@think_or_swim Hi John, which specific points do you disagree with? His points about battery degradation are largely in line with this Zurich Insurance blog, e.g. 2 % per year.

@ClimateSoluti0n @NicholasDCarter Do you have an example of a specific UN office which is corrupt and in what way it is corrupt?
English

@NicholasDCarter Most UN offices are corrupt and incompetent.

@mclauli @whittledaway @SocDems @HollyCairnsTD Then why are there so many ongoing excess deaths in highly vaccinated countries ? The more % vaccinated a population the greater the increase in extra deaths above average, month after month still happening?
Countries with low Vax rates have low or negligible excess deaths now.
English

Some good news this week has been the success of @SocDems and @HollyCairnsTD who are willing to inject some sorely needed honesty into our political debate
Social Democrats@SocDems
The Agriculture Minister says he is not planning for the withdrawal of the nitrates derogation Even as our water quality continues to deteriorate The Minister’s refusal to plan for a very likely outcome is reckless This govt is leading farmers to a cliff edge @HollyCairnsTD
English

@whittledaway @SocDems @HollyCairnsTD "Sem Docs injecting some sorely needed honesty into our political debate"....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
English

@treewomanjones @whittledaway @SocDems @HollyCairnsTD It triggers gratitude from the 10’s of millions who are alive are a result.
English

@whittledaway @SocDems @HollyCairnsTD I'd advise against using the word "inject" - it triggers fury at what has been done !
English

@Technop54777070 @think_or_swim There is no reason that urgently reducing emissions will cause deaths.
English

We're over the cliff imo. Even if all humans stopped emitting, which would cause billions in deaths, the melting of permafrost is releasing more gases. wildfires are also not going to subside anytime soon which means more gases and less ability for the planet to absorb CO2. We're snowballing towards catastrophe and the only solution is carbon capture which isn't feasable yet for the amount we need to capture.
English

"Human-induced warming has been increasing at a rate that is unprecedented in the instrumental record”.
The #climate cliff-edge is just ahead. This would be a great time to hit the brakes, but nah, that’ll upset too many vested interests.
