What a season! State champs for the first time in school history! So unbelievably proud of this group of girls for their hard work a love for the game. Thank you to all of the parents for all your support, the LHS staff and administration, and community of Lemont! #WeAreLemont
We have been experiencing latency issues with Repl.it since 0600 PDT/0900 EDT and are currently investigating the issue. We will hopefully have more to share soon.
@replit Where do I put that code? I create a Java project for my students to type in their code and run. I get the Main.java file already there but I am creating a new file for them and the Main.java file is empty. It won't always run the new file
@replit Is there a specific place I can go to ask about errors or issues with Teams? I want to create a class that is not named Main but it won't always run that class even if the Main class is empty.
This is in Java, you always give the Main.java file to start but they really need to be able to name their class something other than Main so I am making them add a file and put their class in it and run it but it won't always run it.
@theRealXiaoYang@replit What platform is this? Looking for something for html/css that students can upload images and possibly font files and have an entire website on the platform and not just the html and css files
We are going to have to once again temporarily block access to our legacy Classroom product while we investigate issues. We will continue to provide updates here until we have resolved the issue, also teachers can expect an email from us shortly.
@replit Nice to see the assignments but having to click back and forth to read the directions and to the editor is hard for many students. Having the directions on the screen while they created code was a much better design. This is not good design for many students. Know your market!
@replit@JonathanCazalas It states $35 for 100 students (unlimited right now) so why does it matter how many teams those students are in? If I have 4 classes (now teams) I would pay $140 a month???? even though those 4 classes only have a total of 80-100 students?
@JonathanCazalas $35/team is considerably cheaper than the $5/user/month we used to charge for Classroom and the $100/month we used to charge per unlimited Team. We believe this is the easiest/most affordable approach for our partners. But we'll be paying close attention to feedback!
@BradWray@replit On their site, I read that 1 class would be a team and the pricing is for an unlimited number of students right now for $35 it doesn't seem to matter how many teams you have.
@replit Hi I'm checking out Teams as a solution to Classrooms as need something for kids to do when site is down... in a previous tweet or blogpost there was a reference to tutorials on how to automatically grade... can you post a link if avail? Thanks
@replit I watched this and unfortunately you have forgotten who your target market is or maybe you have changed it but this is so cumbersome. I work with beginning high school programmers. I would suggest that you bring a teacher onboard to help you better design Teams for how we use it
Though we hope Classroom will stay problem-free tomorrow, we highly encourage students and teachers to back up their current work to normal repls, as we cannot guarantee classroom staying unblocked. Thank you all for your patience and cooperation!
@replit@SandraDavis_Edu Teams doesn't look like it works at all like Classroom. Do you get input from teachers who use your product? While collaboration is great, you should not have taken away the ability to create indiv. assignments and for them to submit/get feedback, that's what made it so useful.
@SandraDavis_Edu Are you currently on classrooms? We are working with our current classroom subscribers who want to move over to teams with pricing if they are already budgeted out.
A year ago today we gave students free hacker plan. We sure have come far since then as we are expanding our educational offerings to Teams for Education soon! blog.repl.it/student-offer
@replit@douglundin The problem is that as teachers we have to get our expenses approved last year and when the classroom was free, I had no reason to ask for funds to pay for it. With only 10 users per team. I would have to make 3 times as many teams in order to accommodate all of my students.
@MarianosMarket So, what do you do with the extra change when you "can't" give it back to the customer due to the "coin shortage"? The cashier could only give me dollars back andsaid, I don't have the change to give you that back. His drawer will be over at the end of his shift.
