Zunesha broke her maiden in style yesterday at Hawkesbury under a great ride from Tyler Schiller. Having just her third career start and coming off the back of two excellent seconds, she looked every bit the professional as she put them away by two and half lengths. Prima Bella fought back like a “caged lion” for a dead heat win in the last at Flemington with Harry Coffey on board. Backing up after a super run at Randwick last weekend, this was her first time down the straight and she handled it like a pro. Delighted for her lovely connections.

Matthew C. Smith Racing is seeking an experienced rider to join our Group 1 winning stable at Warwick Farm in Sydney.   The successful applicant will be able to ride 8 – 10 horses per morning, with a particular emphasis on riding pace/timed work.   They will have experience in educating horses at all stages – including young and inexperienced horses, colts, and older racehorses in barrier education, jump outs and timed fast work.   The role is Monday to Saturday – mornings only but we do have availability for full-time work (3 afternoons per week) and there will be opportunities to attend race days if you wish.   Very attractive salary on offer and accommodation is also available for the right applicant.   If you are passionate about educating and conditioning racehorses and would like to join a supportive, well-established team who are committed to excellence, then we’d love to hear from you.   Applications including cover letter and resume with references can be emailed to assistant@matthewsmithracing.com.au.   International applicants welcome to apply.

Aethelwulf gapped them at Kembla Grange this afternoon, bringing up his second win from just four starts. Given a super ride by Zac Lloyd, he earned himself a glowing report post race and looks to be a very exciting horse for the future. Congratulations to his connections!

A huge congratulations to Oliver Barrett and Olivia Barton on being selected to represent Australia in eventing at the World Championships in Aachen next month. We’re fortunate enough to have Oliver as part of our team of riders at Luskin Park and Golly also spent time at the farm before making the big move overseas. Well done guys, we can’t wait to cheer you both on!

Anythink Goes relished the back up for a well deserved win at Rosehill yesterday - 874 days since he last led them in. He’s a real trooper this horse, having now had 49 starts for six wins, 17 placings and prizemoney earnings just shy of $600,000. A big congratulations to his ownership group and well done Alysha Collett on a super ride.

Silencio Porfavor and The Way Ahead both found the winners circle in great fashion yesterday at Newcastle, adding to Ready To Shine’s victory at Rosehill and giving the stable a Saturday treble. A big congratulations to all our owners and thank you to our hardworking teams at Warwick Farm and Luskin Park for keeping the horses in tip top shape.
