@kathyhen_ I project my screen and show students how to set up and name folders. I usually have students copy a doc/sheet/slide that I have created and rename it with their initials followed by the title I gave it (KM 1.0 Example Doc). Then practice saving it to the correct location.

@MrCorleyMath We're seeing a lot of apathy, too. Especially from our freshmen boys.

@mcsorley_math No phones this year, which helped. Main issues this year were attendance and apathy.

Year 25 in the books. It was definitely the most challenging of my career. Things are not back to "normal", and I'm not sure today's students even know what "normal" means in regards to school. COVID seemed to make accountability disappear from education.

@fawnpnguyen I like to call HS graduation the "end of childhood ceremony" with my seniors. A little sentimental, but it makes me laugh.

I am curious about when 8th-grade continuation/promotion became a thing, like a full-on event. I mean it's 8th grade. And 9th grade will start after summer. (I got an invite last week for a TK promotion.)

@kathyhen_ Teaching is such a crazy career. We are supposed to do the same thing for 30 years??? Talk about a recipe for burnout! And in CA, when you're mid-career, you lose your years of service if you move to a new district or get a much smaller pension if you move to a new profession.

@CmonMattTHINK How about starting with non-math statements first? eg: Sandwiches have pb&j on them.

Hey all. Just had a jolt of inspiration. I'd like to try to come up with a big list of AMBIGUOUS math statements. Think: The kinds of things you often see/hear from students. I want them to run the gamut in terms of clarity, and the WAYS they're ambiguous. Examples in next tweet.

I'm new to @LEGO_Education Spike and so far my students really love it! We made these searching bots today. Find the object and push it off the ring without falling off.

Just noticed Companion Mode in @desmosclassroom Labs. The ability to take pictures of student work with a phone and send it straight to be presented feels like a game changer. #mtbos

@deanpierce I made the circuit layout in a Word doc. It showed the path of the copper tape and the placement of the electrical components. We connected to power with a USB C connector that was taped to the circuit. a.co/d/0xTZofG

My Newcomers designed these light boxes in @tinkercad, fabricated with our laser cutter, and built a paper circuit with slow change LEDs to make them glow. I love seeing the Ss' proud faces when they see them light up!

@chrisleechss The button is a really big improvement! Especially for the last slide. It was hard to get PI to stay at 3.14.

I added an action button to slides so that the wrapping would automatically go around the circle instead of dragging the point. Just an idea.
