@haderax1 Combat was an upgrade. Everything else was bad. And even then beating the story made the considerable gear options worthless because the sword of eden was better than them alland trivialized the game.

Eh. The Outer Worlds was basically Fallout in space, and we all know how that turned out. And as a Dragon Age fan, one thing I've learned is that developers change. The person who wrote your favorite character fifteen years ago isn't necessarily the same writer they are today. Weekes wrote Mordin Solus and then went on to write Taash, for example. So I don't really buy the "they made New Vegas, therefore the next Fallout will automatically be amazing" argument. That said, I genuinely hope I'm wrong. I want Fallout to be fucking incredible. Only time will tell.

But reality is, there are older truths at work here… truths neither Herbert nor Villeneuve can fully suppress. Why? Because no matter how much you try to deconstruct it, the core of the story remains intact. The call to adventure still beckons. A young man is summoned out of obscurity into greatness. He faces trial, suffering, sacrifice. He becomes something more than himself. Courage. Heroism. Purpose. Destiny. Those truths prevail. You can try to frame that as a warning. You can try to surround it with doubt, irony, or critique. Herbert himself tried to do exactly that. He wanted Paul to be seen as dangerous, as a cautionary tale about charismatic leaders and messianic power. But audiences don’t experience it that way. They feel the ascent. They recognize the pattern because it’s older than the author. Older than the genre. Older than the medium itself. It’s myth. And myth doesn’t bend easily to intention. You see the same phenomenon in Starship Troopers. The director made it as satire… an exaggerated parody of militarism, nationalism, and propaganda. It was meant to be absurd, even grotesque. But what do people actually take from it? Duty. Brotherhood. Sacrifice. Service. The idea that citizenship is earned through commitment to something greater than yourself. The deeper layer wins. Because again, these are not modern constructions. They are ancient truths. The desire for meaning. The pull toward struggle. The admiration of courage and sacrifice. The instinct to follow strength, to rise, to become… more. You can dress it up in irony. You can try to subvert it. You can even openly argue against it. But if the structure is there, if the archetype is present, it will assert itself. The audience will feel it, whether they’re supposed to or not. The arc still resolves in the same direction: Toward greatness, destiny, and transformation of a man into something more. The story is not ultimately Villeneuve’s. And it was never fully Herbert’s either. It belongs to something older: myth and legend. The story escapes its author, because it points to something ancient and true.

I don't want them to fail. But they fail constantly because they suck and betrayed Monty after his death. You don't give a shit about RWBY as a show, you just want to bully people because it's a "progressive" show. Which just means its shit but it gives you a sense of moral superiority because at heart? I don't know WHAT the hell Kerry promised VIZ for this but I guarantee he won't deliver. VIZ has been dragging their heels on this for over two years. It took them over a year just to get RWBY back to legal watchable status and give us Volume 9. The fact that this is a minute video with no real information isn't a good look ether. VIZ is not an animation studio. They're a licensing and distribution company. They don't actually produce anything. So that means Kerry has to actually contract out an animation studio. That's going to take another year for negotiations and production. And after Ice Queendom and the controversy that came out of that, I doubt he's going to be able to get a Japanese studio. Odds are he's going to wind up trying to find a local American one and oh boy the controversies that come out of that given they are absolutely going to try and find the most Progressive and Anti-Audience studio possible. The fact that he has no other CRWBY members ether is not a good look ether. At best, all this means is that VIZ finally gave in to at least attempt to do SOMETHING with the RWBY IP. So they've opened the purse strings for this. That's it, they gave Kerry a budget and told him to get started. It's not going to be a big one can tell you that right now. If Kerry doesn't deliver, (he won't) VIZ will finally have the reasoning they need to Vault RWBY for good. If Volume 9 didn't kill the show, Volume 10 is the definitive deathknell since VIZ won't sell.
