Pages can say he was just bluffing yesterday, but when he did it to Chase Silseth two weeks ago he was absolutely signalling pitches to Téo. You can watch the AB and after three pitches, you can get the rest correct based on his signal.
Jack Harris@ByJackHarris

Was Andy Pages actually signaling pitches (*legally*) at 2B yesterday? Pat Murphy thought so. Pages told @californiapost he was just bluffing. Either way, it was an example of the kind of "gamesmanship" Pages has come to relish More @capostsports: nypost.com/2026/05/24/spo…

@ChadMoriyama Two weeks ago against Chase Silseth he definitely had them. I was able to call the last half of a Téo AB correctly because of Pages’ signals.

This @metrolosangeles map was a lifesaver when I visited LA: Metro Stations with Restroom Access! When nature calls, you gotta go!! Bless the Throne restrooms!! Also saw that Metro is installing them at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax & Sepulveda (G Line) Stations! 🙏🏻🚾🚇🚈

@travisyost And does Matthews want to go there? If that’s where he wants to be, it probably makes the package even lighter.

Very interesting question IMO is how serious Utah is about contending next year. Would they package one or two of these bigtime prospects +, and try and steal Matthews and go for it?

If Auston Matthews is traded, man it's hard to find a better trade partner than Utah. Prospects aplenty: Desnoyers, Iginla, Simashev. But. They still control all of their first-round picks. And if Toronto doesn't want to retain $, players like Schmaltz/Peterka could factor.

@ChadMoriyama He might not be a great base coach, but turning Pages into the 2nd best NL CF is accomplishment enough for me.

Dino is a great coach, but I don't remember many great sends, lol. x.com/i/status/20567…
JB@JBCalifornia57

@ChadMoriyama Hey it was possibly a mistake not to send him. But how times in the past has Dino made a great decision and sent a runner. That one decision did not cost us the game.

@AllenCaps1995 Sure, but even if they had enough assets to trade for both McDavid and Matthews, they would still have enough cap room left over to sign Carlson to a 2x$9M deal. What they can’t do is pay Liljegren 5x$5m because that will use money they need in 29/30 for Leonard and others.

@mdfrese Well Im also not just thinking about UFAs. Obviously goofy example would be if the Oilers decided to blow it up and McDavid became available, well we have space for that. Obviously, thats not happening, but stuff along those lines, in addition to UFAs

A return makes no sense from either side. One of our biggest assets for the future is the plethora of Cap Space we have for this season to get a ton of young talent under contract. Why would we spend that on a season or two of Carlson. Nostalgia?
Ted Starkey@TedStarkey

On Carlson - I do think if Caps and Carlson would have come to an understanding on an extension, there wouldn’t have been a trade. Caps usually take care of their own early, in this case, they didn’t. Certainly not the best move they made, but a reunion isn’t likely IMHO.

@AllenCaps1995 There’s not one $9M UFA out there, much less 4 of them. And all of that is true in 27/28 as well, with a bigger cap. I get that he might not want to come back. But a 2x$9M deal is EXACTLY the kind of deal the Caps should make this offseason.

@AllenCaps1995 Who are you spending that cap space on in the next 24 months? Alex Tuch? They have too much free money next year. They have $36M for four F’s and one D. If one of the F slots is filled by Cristall/Miro/Lapierre/Pacasrak, they have $35M for 4 players That’s 4 $8.75M salaries.

@LukeCerpinTaxt I agree it’s not about Chychrun. It’s about the 18 year old you’re drafting at 1.2. He’s not the centerpiece of a competitive team until his third year, which will be 28/29. Dylan Strome will be 31 and in his walk year at that point.

@mdfrese Chychrun is not holding them up like that. They can easily be competitive without him.

Not Hot Take: If you fire someone you shouldn't be able to control who they interview with.
Frank Seravalli@frank_seravalli

League sources say #Oilers have sought permission to interview Bruce Cassidy as they contemplate significant coaching staff changes. To this point, sources say @GoldenKnights have withheld permission from division rival. Gamesmanship? Perhaps. Mostly unprecedented for role.

@LukeCerpinTaxt I’m not necessarily against it, but it’s an admission that their next really competitive season is 28/29. And if that’s the plan, fine, but they need to take other steps in that same direction, like trading Strome and Matt Roy right now to get the most value from them.

Wild the amount of Caps fans against this. Gain a franchise winger at the cost of a position that Caps are flush at. I’m doing it all day every day. I can see the argument of removing ANA 1st and replacing it with something else though.

@LukeCerpinTaxt If they do something like this, they ought trade Dylan Strome too. They’re resetting the competitive timeline to 28/29 and he’ll be 32 and in his walk year.

@_oscar_arias @FabianArdaya Send Henriquez to OKC tomorrow to activate Snell. If Glasnow isn’t improving tomorrow or Sunday, they IL him and activate Gervase.

Dave Roberts said Tyler Glasnow’s MRI didn’t show anything “significant.” Dodgers are in “a holding pattern” with him right now, Roberts said. As of right now, they aren’t making an IL move for him.

Worth noting Tyler Glasnow’s shortened start Wednesday (back spasms) could be part of this decision. Both Glasnow and the Dodgers were hopeful an IL stint could be avoided, but the team could still skip Glasnow’s next turn through the rotation.
Katie Woo@katiejwoo

Blake Snell will start tomorrow (Saturday) for the Dodgers, making his season debut, as @ByJackHarris reported. Dodgers will need to make a corresponding move, and TBD what it will mean for the rotation.
