Janice, I've had my new model Y Juniper since July of this year… I've driven 95% of my miles in self driving. One of the most remarkable things I realized is how much more relaxing it is to drive particularly on a long trip. We went from Phoenix to Flagstaff, Arizona about 150 miles and I saw things I never had seen before as this was a trip I've done over 500 times by my lifetime. And then when you arrive, it's just like maybe you've watched a TV show or something it's really relaxing. The only thing you have to be prepared for is that when you go back to standard driving it seems so antiquated… And so much work. One last thing my wife swore she would never use self driving. She didn't feel it was safe and it was too complicated. After about a month of watching me use it. She finally took the car somewhere and loved it and I haven't been able to get her out of it for three months. She hasn't driven her own car for the last two months. I just noticed that you said you have a 2025 model Y long range… So I believe you'll be on hardware 3 which my understanding is it's not quite as good as model 4 that the 2026 model Y Juniper is on. But I believe for a long trip your car will perform very well on the open road.

FSD V14.2.2.5 takes me 415 miles from Raleigh, North Carolina to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in my Tesla Model Y. Zero interventions. Zero input of any kind to the steering wheel or pedals for this entire day-long drive. When I left, it was 58F and raining. When I arrived home, it was 35F, with snow on the ground. FSD handled heavy rain, light rain, day, night, declining temps, heavy traffic, construction, etc. All flawlessly. Tesla ships the most mind-blowing consumer AI of any kind by far.
