As Carl Sagan famously said, we are a way for the cosmos to know itself. We are the means by which a universe of dust and gas suddenly starts writing symphonies, painting masterpieces, and asking where it came from. It sounds unlikely, perhaps even impossible. But here we are, sitting on a small blue rock, having a conversation about it. And that might be the most extraordinary thing of all.
