The Arbitrum Security Council has taken emergency action to freeze the 30,766 ETH being held in the address on Arbitrum One that is connected to the KelpDAO exploit. The Security Council acted with input from law enforcement as to the exploiter’s identity, and, at all times, weighed its commitment to the security and integrity of the Arbitrum community without impacting any Arbitrum users or applications.
After significant technical diligence and deliberation, the Security Council identified and executed a technical approach to move funds to safety without affecting any other chain state or Arbitrum users.
As of April 20 11:26pm ET the funds have been successfully transferred to an intermediary frozen wallet. They are no longer accessible to the address that originally held the funds, and can only be moved by further action by Arbitrum governance, which will be coordinated with relevant parties.

We recently unpacked our engineering partnership with @HelloTelos.
From a multi-party trusted setup to achieving a 10x speed boost in proof generation - here is how we are building the privacy standard for EVM:
1. The two historical blockers for on-chain privacy have always been:
▹ trust (who holds the keys?)
▹ latency (how long to generate a proof?)
We tackled both head-on to build a stack that is usable in production, not just in theory.
1️⃣ security.
We co-led the Trusted Setup ceremony.
By aggregating secret entropy from distributed contributors and cryptographically destroying the toxic waste, we ensured the system is backdoor-proof from block zero.
2️⃣ performance.
zk-SNARKs are heavy math. Historically, this meant slow UX.
Our engineering teams optimized client-side proof generation, achieving a ~10x speed increase for desktop environments.
This brings private transactions closer to the speed of standard transfers.
But math is useless if devs can't implement it.
We are shipping SDKs and blueprints that abstract the zk circuitry. The goal: allow any Solidity dev to integrate shielded accounts without needing a PhD in cryptography.
We aren't waiting for privacy to "trickle down." We are building the primitives to make it scalable today.
