@TamhiniGhat Even a nominal Re. 1 environmental fine by the NGT formally establishes liability, whether for individuals or associations. Such symbolic penalties reinforce regulatory obligations, acknowledge harm, and ensure accountability, regardless of the monetary amount.

Great! But does a monetary fine of ₹5000 even register in the affairs of cricket associations? As some of the precious unpaved urban spaces sports grounds could be ordered to build robust rainwater storage and recharge structures instead.
