The highest level of discipline is delayed gratification. I do it all the time and it worked. At 20, rejecting a bank job of 63k in the location of my university offered by a regional manager who likes me just because I know it will distract me from my studies. Many of my colleagues told me resigning was a bad decision. That was 2012. At 21/22, dropping browsing phone at home because I needed to concentrate in school and my grade got better that session. I always believe, there is a better if you just hold on a little longer 🫶

discipline looks boring until you see what it builds.

I Built Something! I have witnessed firsthand how primary and secondary schools in Nigeria faced unnecessary headaches in managing academic results. After a year of solo development, I am incredibly proud to finally introduce Result.ng

Unpopular Opinion; YouTube is NOT luck… Your favorite YouTubers tend to say it as a means of poorly communicating that they are grateful and to acknowledge their privilege… But it’s not luck… because most of you if gifted with insane attention wouldn’t be successful.., The same way if you win the lottery without financial education… you tend to go broke and be worse off… That’s what happens to 99% of people who go viral… they don’t last. Even some of the original Big YouTubers didn’t last more than a handful of years… It wasn’t luck.., there was no precedent for being a successful YouTuber and they were young adults with no life skills and experience and a lot of people to take advantage of them… Maybe you accept this and want to say… “well the algorithm is luck”… It’s NOT… most people don’t know how to give people what they want… Most people weren’t popular in high school, and weren’t on the honor roll, or didn’t win an award or trophy… Making 100 videos on YOUTUBE is just the beginning of practice…. Saying it’s “luck” is a cop out because most people never put the time in for SKILL… and 100 videos isn’t enough… That’s just to sample the experience… Skill? If you’re not a unicorn… 1000 videos. MrBeast made 460 videos to get to 10,000 subscribers… I made 880 videos to get to 100,000 subscribers. PewDiePie make 100 videos to get to 2500 subscribers. Most people NEVER bother to even TRAIN 100 hours on their video editing software? Of course you’d think everything is luck… Replicate a PERFECT copy of 20 YouTube thumbnails that recently got 2-10M views from scratch.., (no you can’t replicate Penguin0 thumbnails) Make a perfect clone from start to finish of a Casey Vlog… Make a perfect clone of a Markiplier video… It’s NOT LUCK… People admire Big YouTubers, but can’t compete with them… So they dismiss it as luck, because it’s too hard to say “I’m not good enough to get the attention I want”… “I don’t deserve a viral video… yet…” Most of you have underestimated how hard this is and how much work and practice at every single one of your skills is required… A lot of your favorite male YouTuber who made it with less than 100 videos? They were jocks of geniuses… The Paul Bros and Ryan Trahan and KSI, Speed? All D1 athletes and more or less 6 feet tall,.. That’s natural confidence and charisma and levels of being extroverted you’re not going to have… Mark Rober? A literal engineering genius and inventor… They were UNICORNS before YouTube and born with potential, but still worked harder than you in the most competitive things life has to offer… In arenas where .5% better counts. Most of you if you desperately want to be successful should commit much more to every SKILL that would matter… And don’t START with editing… START with dedicating yourself to 100 hours of improving your thumbnails with skills in graphic design and photography… The biggest YouTubers leverage photography, and then do photo manipulation… PewDiePie was a master of this. And before YouTube was going into graphic design and had prestigious internship lined up. He wasn’t all personality… he mastered a rare skill… What I’m saying isn’t going to sound nice or humble… If you listen and don’t get discouraged and emotional, it’s going to make you better… And maybe it’s more important for you to be better than to feel better… If this is JUST a hobby, then you can ignore me and do what you want…

Education is important, it’s not a scam. It doesn’t have to happen in a classroom but you have to get it - not just for your sake but for the world at large. It’s your responsibility to educate yourself if nobody does; read, watch YouTube, engage in intelligent conversations, listen to smart people, just learrrrnnnnnnn.
