The Dai Li weren’t just soldiers, they were elite secret police personally trained for stealth, precision strikes and immobilization. Their earth gloves alone make them terrifying because they can attack, restrain, and defend almost instantly from multiple angles. Meanwhile, regular Fire Nation soldiers mostly rely on straightforward firebending and formation combat in numbers. Dai Li agents can literally pin your arms, trap your legs and end the fight before it starts. They fought some of the strongest benders in the series and still remained dangerous. The skill gap is honestly huge.
