at this time I didn't even use my ipad for any of the art think i drew it all in Photoshop at that time lol. had to start somewhere as pixel art was completely new for me funny how it all evolved into what it is today. the testnet plan was set in stone since somewhere 2023. i remember chatting with bill monday about it in singapore last year long after i had the plan in mind "i should drop little teaser pets day 1 of testnet, and then hopefully people speculate on them and they become whitelist passes" i think that idea had been on my mind long before there was any mention of monad testnet so i just stick to my plan and actually did literally that. day 1 was a stressy nightmare i remember. mint didnt go as planned and got botted in less than a second contract had some issues so we never were able to verify through Matrica etc. holderbase shows different on seperate monad testnet scanners. what a mess. lmao but i havent regretted launching it early one time. it made skrumps into what it is today and kinda embarked the whole monad nft journey for many others (hold > WL) i just created this idea in my head of "i drop little testnet guys that are a hint at the main collection" - they become a WL pass, then i drop the big boys on mainnet with a much bigger supply. and so i stuck to my plan in the span of 2 months skrumpets on Testnet became insanely populair (idk why), it was insane. at the same time i went on Monad in the morning in New York to explain the whole bit (shoutout Danny). amazing times really. then i figured; oh. people actually like these little pets lol. i havent started on the mainnet design yet. fuck "i need to do better" people have high expectations now, i need to somehow do something thats 10x better, bigger and more impressive. what i got stressed for a minute. got back to my drawing board, started making iterations of new characters, ended up tweaking for a few months and losing my mind. wasn't as easy as I expected at the same time i kept up doing my fulltime job at Switchboard and doing all the "marketing" for skrumpeys never lost focus and eventually got a proper design finished. sent it to some friends, and they were like "yep, this is the one" ... started generating traits, 3333 is a lot compared to 500. i needed more traits, more details, more depth basically kept drawing the collection until a few days ago. its been an endless journey designing these things and i couldn't be more excited to finally share them i'm definitely convinced its a major improvement towards the pets. something i'm proud of. lets see reveal will be first week of monad mainnet. dn
