@DiegoOjeda66 I want to use this book during our Somos food unit with my heritage students. I want to treat it like a guessing game. I’m hoping that I can read the poetry to them or have one of them read aloud, and they guess what food were talking about!

@alenord Honestly, depends on the relationship i have with the student. If I know they don’t trust, like or respect me…I am having a different conversation. I do not shy away from hard conversations and I work in a very liberal school . (Non answer?)

Within the national climate we are teaching in, do you tell your MS or HS students hard things to try to help them be better people? Are you brave enough to? If so, when? What strategies do you use? If not, why not?
