While I'm on petty grievances, though, I'd appreciate it if people stopped encouraging me to make romantic moves on women I am friends with. I haven't avoided doing this out of timidity, but because not only is it a violation of the trust that comes assumed with friendship, but even if they were receptive to it I am not available for a relationship and in either case it would end inevitably in heartbreak either through the loss of a friend or through false hope. I understand the intention is good, and everyone wants me to find love, but I'm not being a doomer when I say it's not available to me in the romantic sphere right now and receiving pressure on the matter doesn't help at all. What I need most of all is to be encouraged in my creative life, basically, much more than anything else.
