“Cinephiles” decided Robert Pattinson is their king and Tom Holland isn’t an actor so they’re pretending like there’s a night and day difference between them in The Odyssey when there really isn’t. Matt Damon was leagues above everyone, Anne Hathaway after him, then everyone else

@normal_jake_ my best description is that he never gets me to feel the way he wants me to. I can look at it and understand how it would make sense to feel that way, but outside of a few of his movies I never find myself stirred. and I think it’s because of what he prioritizes

My take on the great Nolan debate is that he is a supremely talented director and I find most of the contrarianism very eye rolling
BUT I will say I do get it a bit, something about his movies keeps me just a tiny bit at arms length

The nuke moment is easily the weakest scene in Oppenheimer where it looks like a tiny gasoline explosion. I get that Nolan has an obsession with practicality but I wish the actual scene looked more like this clip. Should’ve used a CGI + archival footage approach.

if you don’t like it just say you don’t like it. if you don’t care for the story it tells just say that. but it’s a pretty straight forward movie, and saying that you don’t understand it reflects more on you than it does the movie

it’s really hard for me to sympathize with this because it’s like really clear why it’s happening. the way people talk about tenet you’d think it was just random shots played out of order for 2 hours. it has a story! and themes!

Yeah it looks amazing. I’d probably think about it more if I understood why it was happening or cared about who it was happening to, or even how it felt for them. TENET is a far far better film to talk about then to watch
