In other words, designers have intuitive or lived experience sensibilities to propose visions (tastemaking). Human-centered design research (empathy) is secondary.

Design tastemaking can better describe how designers consider people. Good designers are tastemakers who rely on intuition and have the ability to get people to desire their proposed artifacts.

We design products that solve problems. Products typically generate other problems. Some new problems are systemic and can’t be solved with more products.

We need to transition from designing artifacts to helping people enact artifacts in different ways. #DesignAfterDesign

We should focus again on learning meaningfully not on learning rapidly.

If you design for emergent consequences, there are no unintended consequences.
