Nigeria became the first African country to install Starlink in January 2023. 1. Nigerian Poverty Rate (2023) - 56.2% 2. Nigerian Poverty Rate (2026) - 62% In three (3) years of Starlink existence in Nigeria, poverty has increased by 5.8 percentage points. You're a liar😅
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Starlink has done more than any NGO to lift people out of poverty by connecting them with a means of education and a market for their good & services via the Internet

Special Investigating Unit (SIU)
#SIUWorkingForYou| The Acting Head of the SIU, mR Leonard Lekgetho has taken to the podium: The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has uncovered a disturbing reality: South Africa’s immigration system has been treated as a marketplace, where permits and visas were sold to the highest bidder.

There would undoubtedly be something deeply unsettling when an institution as significant as the @PresidencyZA in any shape, way or form would appear to descend into the narrow lanes of petty party political considerations. One expects that, at the very least, the Presidency; precisely because it is a national institution, must rise above factional moods and actually extend a simple, uncontroversial, and dignified acknowledgment of the 84th birthday of a former President of this Republic of South Africa. Such gestures are not about personalities; they are about continuity, institutional memory, and respect for the office itself. It is in moments like these that the role of the administrative leadership within the Presidency must always come into sharper focus. The Director-General in the Presidency and Secretary of Cabinet, Ms. Phindile Baleni, together with the DDGs, Chief Directors, Directors, and the broader technical staff, who by the metrics of the Public Service Act and Oversight by bodies like the Public Service Commission are not political actors just because their mandate is in the main Professionalism, Neutrality and more fundamentally Continuity of governance. They are the custodians of the institutional integrity of the Presidency. Their responsibility is not to the transient occupant of the Union Buildings, but to the office, the Constitution, and ultimately the people of South Africa. These officials form the backbone of a system that must endure beyond electoral cycles and shifting political tides. They are expected, by design and by oath, to act without fear, favour, or prejudice. To reduce their role to that of loyalists of any sitting President would be to fundamentally misunderstand the very architecture of a working or matured constitutional democracy as ours. Their Key Performance Area is not political compliance, but institutional consistency, administrative excellence, and principled neutrality. One would therefore hope that, guided by this understanding, they would without fail act in a manner that affirms the dignity of the Presidency as an enduring institution. Because in the end, what is at stake is not a birthday message rather it is the standard we set for how state institutions conduct themselves in a constitutional order that demands maturity, fairness, and a clear separation between governance and politics. 🇿🇦 #HappyBirthdayPresidentZuma 🎂 🎊🎈

Although the R6.09 TRILLION debt acquired in the 1994 framework sounds flat, it is sitting on the keys. 70% of this debt is held in ZAR. This means that we are not just beholden to foreign masters, we are beholden to local banks that have grown significantly as a result of the 1994 agreement. We have great potential to reassess our position. South Africa currently ranks 33rd in the world in gold reserves (125 tonnes). By reassessing these reserves at current market prices, we can logically remove a large part of the legacy of the "Apartheid Debt" that still weighs on our budget. Why has this not been done? Because the "Shadow Negotiators" of 1994 promised to protect the current financial system above all else. Genuine decolonization means taking back control of our wealth to serve our people.

You’re a blatant liar. That’s exactly why this platform has become so distasteful. You acquired it on the promise of tackling misinformation, yet you’ve become one of its biggest sources. There are over 500 American companies operating in South Africa, many of them led by white executives. This isn’t about facts, it’s about smearing South Africa for your own benefit.

Entertainers and politicians can be incredibly selfish, self-absorbed, and cunning. They are not always the nicest, nor the kindest of people. For many, almost every move is calculated and underpinned by one question: what’s in it for me? With close to three decades in the game, I’ve watched the same script repeat itself with each generation. A lot of this behaviour is shaped by the environment. The industry is built on scarcity ie limited financial resources, limited opportunities and constant comparison. Relevance is never guaranteed. You are always being measured. That kind of pressure pushes people, especially those who are already insecure, toward self-preservation and transactional ways of relating. Yes, there are good-hearted entertainers out there. But they are few. Very, very few. The majority, nje, have intliziyo ezimbi.
