@midwestbimbo I lost my mom in December, and when I went to the grocery store to get a silly card for my secret pal at work last week, I was surrounded by mother's day cards and gifts, and I almost started bawling my eyes out in the middle of the aisle.
was thrifting today and i expressed to my friend that this weekend feels really weird for me because my mom is dead and it’s a lot to handle emotionally. anyways as i was going to put a purse back a woman came up to me and said she appreciated me saying that because she needed to
@MelanieCmusic@Sharpie When my friends and I were 12, waaaay back in 1998, we dressed up as the Spice Girls (I was you!) and danced at our school talent show. We even practiced all of your signatures and attempted your accents (Americans, so I'm sure they weren't great, haha).
i rewatched spice world yesterday and i had forgotten how utterly insane this movie is. they have a "best friend" (as in, she's all their best friends?) whose arc is that she got pregnant by a guy who's abandoned her, and it's up to the spice girls to deliver the baby safely
@RemyNY@hugefarm I saw them in concert in June 1998. My friends and I did a dance routine for our talent show. The girl who played Geri went to the concert with me. Geri quit just a few weeks before the concert, and I remember calling my local radio station and asking them if it was true. 😭
@daylightsdrivin Exactly! A lot of people are likely taking the train. It's a bit pricier, but if I go, I plan on staying at the hotel I stayed at the last time I stayed in NYC. It's a 2 minute walk from MSG, and then I'd be taking an early train home the next day.
@Somakethefriend I would absolutely pay that for Taylor and the type of show she puts on. Add in the openers, and it's practically the length of a festival.
Getting this spot cost me 589€. Expensive, but it was F’ Taylor Swift and the F’ The Eras Tour, 3 and a half hours of pure magic and excellence by people who gave it all for the art. History was made.
Thank you, Taylor, for your boundless generosity and respect for your fans.
@afterlauqhter I know the small venues were definitely an issue, but I'm so grateful that she's playing Baltimore. I'm seeing her not that far away, for less than $90. I frequently look at my ticket just to make sure I didn't dream it all.
feeling particularly grateful to hayley’s team today for not only capping tour ticket prices but also having essentially free m&gs last year. yeah the tour sale wasn’t perfect and there’s plenty of area for improvement but at least they actually seem to care
