Friends, thank you all for your bunderful support. The vet called just now to say Penguin is so very poorly and recommended sending him over the rainbow. So, that is what we are doing. They will do a neuropathy to try to find out WTF happened. 😞

Jasper has a new sarcoma near some lymph nodes. It's come up in a different spot than the one that was surgically removed. We're planning for palliative care :(

@creator_grimm I know because I have been through this journey (with a rabbit, not a parrot, but still, the same journey). It's not pleasant, but you will be okay, and you will carry May's memory forward. You'll be talking about her for years. But in time, with more smiles than tears.

Is it wrong that I can’t do anything but think of her? Is it wrong that all of my conversations are about her? Is it wrong that this little creature should have such a hold on me?

@creator_grimm You have my deepest sympathy. May is one of the prettiest little ones I've ever seen. The love you two shared is as clear as day. I am so sorry for your loss.

I’m devastated to let you all know that May the Parrot died peacefully in her sleep today. She was happy and apparently healthy earlier, but sometimes small parrots die for unknown reasons. She was 12. I am stunned and heartbroken, more than I can express.

@PennaFischer A happy birthday to you. I wish that things were a little more to your liking. I likely can't think of anything that you haven't already thought of. But here is a picture of a tiny silly rabbit, and the hope that he will bring you a smile.

I'm 40 today and trying to deal with that fact. Most people have their tragic "omg I've done nothing with my life" moment at 30. But I was fine with 30. I'm not so fine with 40. Still unpublished. Unemployed and about to be forced to get a job I hate. I'm struggling today.
