MACDONALD SCRATCH TROPHY CONGRATULATIONS to Simon McSweeney - our NEW Club Champion! A great score of 151 over 36 holes.  2nd place was Steve Crosthwaite with 157, whilst Jamie Beech & Peter Roberts both scored 162.⛳️

....to level up the surface and help dilute the organic matter. The Top dressing was then brushed in and the surface rolled using our Greens iron.  Harry has been giving some training to our new employee John Heginbotham on the Tees mower.

Due to the amount of bad weather we have had this winter, we have built too much organic matter, making the surface of the Greens a little soft. We have treated the Greens with lawn sand and then scarified to pull out some organic matter and then put on a light top dressing to...

...percolate down from the surface and allow roots space to grow. I’m sure you have all done similar in your gardens, a verti-drain is essentially a big fork.
