@melonakos @jkimballcook Not an excuse when excusing isn’t needed. When it’s righteous. I will protect the defenseless, child or adult. I will protect my home and family. The point is not all violence is condemned by God. Extreme cases are real. Nephi slew Laban. We will all be accountable to God.

@Lidl_Sebastian @jkimballcook there is no right scriptural answer. the Spirit can call for pacifism and the Spirit can call for war. but the extreme case of protecting a child is really just an excuse for the warmonger. the wars men start to protect children, kill them.

@melonakos @jkimballcook That’s objectively true but not seeing how that is important here. Are we failing as disciples of Christ if we violently protect or liberate others? If a child is being attacked, would Christ object to violently protecting the child? Christ taught peace but he was not a pacifist.

@jkimballcook War is clearly part of the mortal condition. People have been compelled to go to war in every age, many of them righteous people acting in righteousness. There’s no other way to read the sacred records of God’s dealings with men on earth.
