A major loss for all of us. Allan Hoffman (1932-2023) Univ_Washington passed away today. Allan was my academic brother (PhD '57 MIT) and great mentor. Devastated. He was such an inspiration to all of us. All in tears after we received the news about an hour ago. RIP.
