I’m down 5 figures on presales this cycle. For 8 years, pre/private rounds via community VCs were my best ROI. But this cycle has been brutal: projects either dead on arrival, rug before launch (@ZKasino_io, anyone?), or endlessly "waiting for good market conditions". Latest example is $ALLOCA @alloca_xyz, in which I invested a few months ago. They raised 6–7 figs, then launched a thin Uniswap pool - not even close to enough liquidity for the unlocks + airdrop. Result: token is down 75% a day after TGE. Lesson learned: I’m getting way pickier with ICOs from here on.
