Squid Game is an utterly mediocre show.
Mediocre and poor acting (the VIPs are so bad that they’re actually laughable).
The plot is often nonsensical and meandering (zero thematic or emotional payoff for the entire boat plot line for one).
It’s fun. The cinematography is great. The soundtrack is superb.
But that’s it.
It absolutely pales in comparison to the likes of Sopranos and Mad Men on almost every level.
