@Ster4m @GringoInvesting I have an even better idea: the US should close the strait of hormuz too --> iran will not have any leverage left let's make sure this lands on trumps or hegseths desk!

It just clicked for me... Trump's Hormuz messaging makes sense. Iran's only leverage is the strait. Trump is saying he DGAF about the strait. Therefore Iran has no leverage. Explains the rushed, poorly formatted letter from the Iranian "president" early today. Upsetting naval free-riders is an added bonus. (Trump probably does care about the strait, hence the A10's, but Iran can't be too sure. Heck, plenty of smart fintwit guys that aren't sure either.)

Sevda Karaca'nın Filistin özel oturumundaki konuşması sosyal medyada yeniden gündem oldu. Yabancı dillere çevrilen video yüz binlerce kez izlendi. Karaca, AKP iktidarına, "Amerikan emperyalizminin dostu olunarak Filistin halkıyla dayanışma olmaz. NATO zirvesine ev sahipliği yapılarak Filistin halkıyla dayanışma olmaz" diyerek seslenmişti evrensel.net/haber/5977939/…

To the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and to every last soul walking the streets of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and the dusty villages that still remember the old blood of the Anatolian earth. Listen to me, you fat cats in your marble halls and you ordinary Turks sweating under the same sun that beats down on Tehran right now. The bombs are falling again. Not on soldiers. Not on tanks. On bridges. On power lines. On hospitals and apartment blocks full of kids who never voted for any of this shit. Iran’s civilian guts are being ripped open in broad daylight, and the world watches like it’s just another television show. And you, Erdogan? You sit there in silence, mouth sewn shut by whatever deal or fear or calculation keeps you quiet. That silence is a blade at your own throat, brother. Because after Iran it’s your turn. The same hands that are smashing Karaj today will be lining up the Bosphorus tomorrow, and your precious moral high ground will be nothing but rubble and excuses. I’m not asking you. I’m telling you. Get your asses into the streets. Not for some polite march with flags and slogans that nobody hears. I mean the real thing. The kind that shuts down the avenues, that blocks the tanks from moving, that makes the television cameras shake. Turkish men and women pouring out of the mosques and the coffee houses and the factories, roaring like the old Janissaries used to roar before they sold their balls to the highest bidder. Block the highways. Surround the presidential palace. Make it impossible for one more American bomb to drop without the whole world hearing Turkey’s voice cracking the sky open. Your grandfathers didn’t bleed at Gallipoli so you could sit on your hands while another Muslim country gets carved up like meat on a butcher’s block. And you, Erdogan. Enough of the speeches that go nowhere. Enough of the careful balancing act that leaves your own people next on the list. Pick up the phone. Call the Russians, the Chinese, whoever still has a spine left in this circus. Send aid convoys across the border tonight. Close the straits to every warship that smells of this madness. Tell Washington and Tel Aviv in language they understand that Turkey will not be the next domino. Do it now, before the missiles start flying over your own cities and your children learn what Iranian mothers are learning right now: that silence from their leaders tastes like ash in the mouth. The hour is late. The sky is already burning in the east. If you do nothing, if you let this pass with another pious statement and another photo-op, then you have already surrendered Turkey. The destruction will come, and it will come fast, and history will spit on your grave the same way it spits on every leader who watched the slaughter and called it diplomacy. Rise up, Turks. Rise up like men who still have blood in their veins. Drag your president into action if you have to. Because the next bridge they blow up might be yours. And I swear to the mad god that watches over all this lunacy, I have no stomach for watching Turkey burn after Iran. None at all.

They tried again and they failed again. No, I’m not talking about the decades of repeatedly failed genocidal attempts to wipe out the Palestinians, but rather the ludicrous and pathetic attempts by FSV Mainz 05 to yet again appeal against their loss of my case in the German courts only to lose again. Today, the German courts dismissed the latest appeal from FSV Mainz 05 which affirms the earlier judgment ensuring justice was served with my resounding victory. Time for the deluded decision makers at FSV Mainz 05 to give it a rest and pay up the remainder of my contract. Worthy causes supporting the children of Gaza await. That should give some solace to the executive team at FSV Mainz 05. Free Palestine

Why is she doing this? Because there was general strike after general strike in Rome calling for an end to the genocide. Because the Italian dockers refused to ship weapons to Israel. The people made their fascist, pro-war PM change her tune because they demanded it. ✊🇮🇹

Western Rightists would call Ataturk a "resentful Third Worldist" for helping the Libyans resist Italian colonization, as well as he himself waging war against European colonial powers attempting to carve up Turkey - teaming up with Lenin and the Bolsheviks in the process.

If this ends with European and Asian and African countries paying Iran to get oil through the strait, that is actually a fairly stable arrangement because all parties will have an incentive to keep it stable (except of course Israel and the U.S., the real source of global instability)
Saagar Enjeti@esaagar

BTW when Trump says to other countries to "go get your own oil": They won't do so militarily. They will pay Tehran's hostage toll consolidating their control over the Strait and massively enriching the regime

Turkey’s denunciations of Iranian attacks on its soil remain soft when compared to its condemnations of 🇺🇸🇮🇱 attacks on Iran. If Iran escalates in 🇹🇷, I’d expect Erdogan to still defend BTC (it’s just too huge a strategic asset) but to sound more critical of Iran à la Qatar. 5/

If Iran’s attacks on Turkey increase & start hitting civilian targets—and if Iran publicly broadcasts these as “punishments” for Turkey supplying Israel w/ 30-40% of its annual crude oil needs via the BTC Pipeline—it could put Erdogan in a tough position domestically. 1/
Selin Girit@selingirit

A ballistic missile launched from Iran entered Turkish airspace before being shot down by Nato air and missile defences deployed in the eastern Mediterranean, said Turkey's defence ministry. The incident marked the fourth such incident since the start of the US-Israeli war with Iran, following three earlier interceptions by NATO systems earlier this month that prompted Ankara to protest and warn Tehran via @Reuters
