Over 4,000 young Americans are alive today who might not be — because of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline we built together. The grief of losing a child is something that no parent should ever have to know. We launched 988 in 2022. We invested in it. We fought for it. And now the data is in: an 11% drop in youth suicide. Thousands of kids who picked up the phone instead of giving up. In my view, that’s what government is supposed to do.

Free Week is a popular Austin music tradition that takes place in early January, with shows happening this weekend, January 9th and 10th, throughout the Red River Cultural District.
