Deeply saddened by the tragic accident in Kerzers, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. Kosova feels this loss with particular closeness. Our countries share a deep bond through the many families from Kosova who have built their lives in Switzerland. My thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives, the injured, and the people of Switzerland in this difficult moment. 🇽🇰🇨🇭

Kosova stands with the United States in efforts to deter regimes that threaten international peace and security. For decades the Iranian regime has oppressed its own people, destabilized the region, and supported actions that undermine global stability. We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and their legitimate aspirations for freedom, dignity, and democracy, and against the policies and actions of the regime that deny them these fundamental rights. Lasting stability requires accountability, respect for human rights, adherence to international law, and the protection of fundamental freedoms.

We continued our meetings at the @WorldGovSummit with the President of Switzerland, @ParmelinG, a great friend of the people of Kosovo. Following our discussions in Davos, we continued the conversation on concrete steps to deepen cooperation between our two countries, with our diaspora serving as a vital bridge in this partnership. Kosovo remains deeply grateful for Switzerland’s steadfast support throughout the years. 🇽🇰🇨🇭

Upon arriving in Davos, I had the great pleasure of meeting Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu (@MSidhuLiberal) at the House of Kosova. We discussed ways to strengthen trade relations across several fields, including the ICT sector and the mining industry. Canada has been a long-time ally of Kosova, and we are grateful for its contributions to our country and look forward to even stronger ties.

To honor the victims of the tragedy in Crans-Montana and express solidarity with Switzerland, the Kosovo flag flies at half-mast in Bern. Our deepest sympathies go out to all those affected by this tragic event.

I express my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and all those injured and affected by today’s tragic fire in #CransMontana on New Year’s Day. We stand in solidarity with the people and authorities of #Switzerland and with my colleague @ignaziocassis .

On behalf of the Republic of Kosovo, I extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and express our solidarity with the people and institutions of Switzerland. Bahamas recognizes the Republic of Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state! 🇽🇰 🇧🇸 We just signed our bilateral agreement with Prime Minister @honphilipedavis. On behalf of the people of Kosovo, I extend my sincere gratitude for this decision of historic significance!  Full statement below: JOINT STATEMENT by The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo on Recognition and the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo announce that The Bahamas has recognised the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign State. The two countries further announce the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo, effective from the date of signature of the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations, in accordance with international law and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.   Both countries affirm their commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, including respect for sovereignty, equality of States, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. They agree to advance their relationship on the basis of mutual respect, reciprocity, and constructive engagement. The Bahamas and Kosovo express their intention to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political consultation, trade and investment, tourism, education and culture, technology and innovation, public sector cooperation, and people to people exchange, subject to the laws and procedures of each country. The Bahamas and Kosovo look forward to building a warm and productive partnership that serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to peace and cooperation internationally.

Following intensive discussions in Brussels this evening, I am pleased to share the important news that all EU measures toward Kosovo will be lifted. An important part will be programmed immediately, with the remainder becoming effective in January. I extend my sincere thanks to @EU_Commission President @vonderleyen and to all our partners for recognizing the hard work Kosovo has delivered, meeting all criteria and advancing meaningful reforms. Kosovo remains firmly committed to its European path. We will continue to work closely with the European partners to ensure that the next chapter of this path brings the long awaited news, that of the candidate status. 🇽🇰 🇪🇺
