Former Sharks goalie had to deal with a sunk standard roster in front of him in San Jose and now apparently is dealing with a substandard coach in Colorado. I’m stunned that the Avs were swept but it wasn’t Blackwood’s fault.

As knucklehead who asked question, I believe Blackwood is the team’s most talented goalie … and he knows it. It’s impossible not to like Wedgewood. And Blackwood knows he’s responsible for not taking firm control of net. But also think there’s some truth to Bednar doing him wrong.

@GackleReport Wow, you have a great memory. Barb and Marsha are great friends. Being married to hockey scribes, they frequently and understandably grow weary of hockey talk and go off to discuss their own interests. Doesn’t surprise me that they decided to ignore us all that night.

This. I was proud of the sportswriting tribe and how we supported women reporters who had to fight tough battles to gain equal access and respect. Where is the support from the White House male media contingent when this keeps happening?

As a reporter, I'm so disappointed by the men of the White House press corps. They let Trump constantly bully women reporters. In sports, we stood up 4 each other. I once got into a brawl w/ a U Miami ass't coach over the sexist way he treated a female writer. Grow a pair!

@GackleReport Hey, Paul. Hope you’re doing well. My memory is that the BBQ was at the conference finals. All were invited. Maybe some missed the invite or made other plans, not sure. I count many women hockey scribes as friends, including college classmate and HoF ace @helenenothelen .
