So last two months I drew A LOT but haven't posted much. I'll try to trickle some art through for those who follow me for art reasons. Im kind of burned out now though so will take some time to figure out what to do next. #PlenApril

@SolisAfterDark @ClarkKrist15532 Having not played pragmata yet. I think it's obvious that they've created Diana for men to roleplay what they imagine fatherhood to be like. It's a fantasy. So everything is uncannily departed from reality. I do think it's a jump to call anyone who enjoys the game a p3do though

My observations and opinions entirely, but here's where I believe alot of people got unsettled by Diana's design. She is not exactly a realistic depiction of a child, for being in a game that prides itself on realism. The main issue here is that she looks like she was created for a "certain audience", instead of a child character that simply exists. The best comparison I can make is between her and Emily from RE: Requiem. Both caucasian children of the same age, similar colour palette. What makes Emily's design read as a realistic child is her features and mannerisms. Her deep set eyes create a sunken look, her skin is clear but not "perfect", her wearing that dress makes sense to her backstory, she speaks and moves the way a child does, rigid and lacks abit of motoring. She looks "messy" the way a child without an adult would be. As for Diana, just to start off. She is wearing a puffed jacket that only covers her upper body. Has thick, long and luscious hair that doesn't exactly fit a child. [This is something that alot of people pointed out] she looks like she's wearing "no makeup" makeup. Her brows are groomed, looks like she has mascara, blush and lip gloss on. No skin imperfections either. She looks like a child actor rather than an average child [a problem with female characters in general, whereas male characters are allowed to look average]. She has the facial features of an adult with the proportions of a child [so her face looks like an adult with a neotenous face rather than an actual child]. Her face shares more similarities to Grace [an adult woman] from Requiem than Emily [the child]. And this may be an entirely me thing, but I have worked with alot of children before, and Diana does not move nor speak like an actual child. She acts cute and bubbly, yes, but I have not met a single real child who has her mannerisms. She has quick movements, makes very adult-like expressions that kids usually have trouble motoring their facial muscles for. Her animations is much more comparable to a "clumsy anime girl" rather than a kid who doesn't know how to express themselves. Alot of people were also a little uncomfortable with the fact that this kind of character only exist in a game where the adult taking care of her is a man. Not to say men cannot love children, it's just that when the same kind of unrealistic child characters are not there for games with a female protagonist, people will start asking questions. There's a reason the pragmata sub Reddit had to ban people for posting porn of Diana so early on, but we don't see stuff like that for Emily. Emily is a child character that was created with love and respect, so the community generally treats her as such. Diana is very much walking on thin ice here, because despite all evidence, unless the creators outright say "Diana is meant to be pedobait", people are just going to play dumb and flip it on you, because "you're the weird one for seeing it that way".

As an artist who studies anatomy of all ages, I know exactly what the issue here is with her design, but I'm not going to say anything, because the last time I did, the most insufferable incel corner of the internet dog piled on me.

@KunoMD I mean, I get your point but slightly disagree because I think it's too hyperbolic. However I don't really understand the purpose of the post aside from engagement farming lol

I'm here to tell twitter artists the secret nobody wants you to know but... follower count DOESNT MATTER anymore. Even feelings aside, I'm saying it alogrithmically doesn't matter. It doesn't matter whether you have 200K or 1K followers, any post can die or blow up.

@leafumn Agree with the idea that there are some artists who are brilliant and have almost no followers; but I'm not sure it's a rendering vs non rendering thing. Depending on how you define "render good" I would suggest that good rendering rests on good fundamentals.

I feel like the art community favors artists who render good rather than artists who have great fundamental skills

@yokikotokiku3 So far, do you think the remakes are worth playing? I know we don't know how the third game is going to go but as a long time fan, does it meet your expectations?

@mercstiew in order to keep people interested, they’ve still introduced changes here and there. Even if you start to feel like playing, it might be better to wait until the third is released😅

@yokikotokiku3 Maybe it's different from western vs eastern perspective? I'm in 🇦🇺 On a related note; I was so happy when I watched AC:Complete to see Zack's ghost show up in the final fight. I haven't played the new games though because I'm afraid it will tarnish my memory of the old games

@mercstiew Interesting! In my circle, it’s the opposite. New fans all end up liking Z and A, because her continued feelings for Z are depicted in great detail. I’m expecting the third, which will be written to remain consistent with CC and AC, will also portray Z and A more prominently.

@bloodonacross From memory he did an interview explaining that he chooses to remain involved in the church with hopes of being an example and helping change things from the inside. If he leaves then that's one less Mormon accepting of LGBTQ+; which Imo would be overall less helpful.

@yokikotokiku3 Is this about CloudxAerith vs ZackxAerith? I find younger fans who got introduced with the remakes are very aggressively CloudxAerith. I still remember PS1 FF7 and playing CC from my highschool days so I'm nostalgically ZackxAerith haha.
