Miyamoto says he talked with Koizumi about the relationship between Peach and Rosalina during the development of Super Mario Galaxy and they never came to a conclusion: “When we were developing Super Mario Galaxy, the director for that game, Yoshiaki Koizumi, and I were discussing what Rosalina and Peach’s actual relationship was.
