Every time I start a new novel it's like I'm doing it for the first time. I never seem able to follow the same process twice. This time I've written a 10,000 word outline. Which seems excessive. A bit like reading a Where's Wally book after another reader has circled every Wally.

@Bookeboy It's particularly prevalent in children's fiction. And I guess it works because it seems to feed off itself and becomes self-perpetuating. I will not comment on the perceived easiness of a picture book vs adult novel, we all know the answer 😉
