From what I hear, hispanic leaders wanted it canceled. But to your point, the Lakefront liberal white voters who backed Johnson in 2023 are not Chicago’s Polish community. Breakdown: • Black voters: ~88% for Johnson — this was the foundation of his win. • Latino voters: ~45–46% for Johnson — the vote was split, with no clear majority backing either candidate. • Asian voters: Vallas ~80%, Johnson ~20–30% — Asian-majority precincts leaned heavily toward Vallas. • White voters: ~39–40% for Johnson (mostly Lakefront liberals) That’s what the numbers show.
