This past Friday, April 10th, the Methacton High School community came together for our annual Mini-THON! This event was the culmination of a full year of dedicated planning and fundraising by the Mini-THON Club and their sponsor, Ms. Jordyn Nattrass. From PM to PM, the event was packed with non-stop action as more than 260 students stayed on their feet to enjoy everything from mini-golf and escape rooms to wiffle ball, pickleball, dodgeball, spikeball, and dancing! We are beyond proud to announce that these year-long efforts resulted in a staggering $44,916.15 donated to Four Diamonds. These funds go directly toward providing world-class care, comprehensive family support, and life-saving research in the fight against childhood cancer. To every student who attended, every donor who contributed, and every Mini-THON Club member who worked behind the scenes: Thank you! This past Friday, April 10, Arcola Intermediate School held its annual STEAM Fair. This school-wide career event is all about highlighting the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, while celebrating how the Arts support STEM fields. The morning was kicked off by keynote speaker Paul “Chip” Chantry, who inspired students with his journey, career insights, and the life lessons he’s picked up along the way. Following the keynote, every student participated in four thirty-minute sessions led by industry professionals. With nearly 100 guest speakers, our students got a front-row seat to the professional world. Scientists from Dow and Merck led live experiments, while representatives from Greene Tweed & Company, NorCom Systems, Jefferson Health, CHOP, Reliance Federal Credit Union, Equitable, and many others shared their expertise. Events of this scale don't happen without a dedicated team. A massive shoutout to Mr. Mueller, Arcola's Grade 7 School Counselor, and the entire Arcola STEAM Day Committee for their tireless efforts in planning such a high-impact program. Thank you to all our guests for promoting this incredible day of career exploration. To see more photos, click here: arcola.methacton.org/p/~board/featu…

The 3rd Annual Methacton High School Job Fair was a total success! Students in grades 9–12 were given a dedicated period to explore the floor and meet with professionals from across the region. With over 30 businesses on-site, students explored various career paths including Public Safety, Healthcare, Finance, Skilled Trades, and more. This event connected students with leading organizations such as GSK, Ottobock, Harkins Builders, Viant Medical, The YMCA, Variety Club, Temple University, several branches of the Military, Montgomery County, and Lower Providence. A massive thank you to our K-12 Career Counselor, Dr. Shab Maffei, for leading this initiative and connecting our students with these industry leaders. We are so grateful to all the participating organizations for empowering our students with invaluable real-world insights and helping them visualize their next steps! Huge thank you to Lower Providence Presbyterian Preschool for once again making an impactful donation to our Backpack Program! The 3- and 4-year-old students and their families, along with LPPP staff, spent the last month collecting non-perishable food items to help our Methacton families in need—everything from canned soup to crackers and granola bars! The preschoolers and their teachers packed the items into individual bags decorated with fun images. Each bag included a heart-shaped card with an inspiring message. These bags (45 of them!) and some additional boxes of food will help families who are registered for the Backpack Program. To learn more about the Backpack Program, and to find out how to donate, visit methacton.org/community/back…

This morning, Methacton School District—alongside Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center and Rep. Joe Webster —celebrated the successful first year of our Community Cares peer mentorship program. Throughout the school year, nearly 50 high school students stepped up to teach important lessons to 6th and 7th graders—building character, strengthening connections, and modeling the life skills that shape respectful, responsible citizens. We couldn’t be prouder of these student leaders for the impact they’re making across our Methacton community. A special thank you to our partners and the Methacton Education Foundation for making this program possible! Learn how you can support Community Cares at methacton.org/communitycares and watch the video below for more information!

Want a glimpse of what happens in Mr Kralik's MHS Technology and Engineering classrooms? Students in Engineering Design 1 are solving problems with creative solutions every day. Their latest assignment was to design and build a ping pong ball launcher using their CAD and 3D printing skills. After researching and brainstorming, students collaborated with partners to develop CAD models optimized for 3D printing. The hands-on testing phase proved challenging but rewarding as students pivoted to overcome design obstacles and produce successful launchers. The Engineering Design 2 class has also been hard at work. To start, they flexed their creativity by developing 3D-printed prototypes of futuristic robots for a video game concept. These models were designed in 3D modeling software, printed, and then assembled based on their original CAD plans for display. For their next project, students were provided with components to assemble electrical circuits for Bluetooth speakers. After successfully testing the electronics, they were tasked with designing and 3D printing custom enclosures to house the components. Every student drew from their own unique inspiration to create their final speaker cases. It is inspiring to see these young innovators turn abstract concepts into tangible, functional reality. Great job, Warriors!
