Small cap companies are under pressure, but microcaps are facing the maximum damage. investor quality in this segment is weak and largely speculative. when the cycle turns, there are no long term buyers and liquidity disappears quickly. promoter mindset remains the biggest concern. at the time of raising money the focus is growth and value creation. after the money comes in priorities often change and minority shareholders are ignored. many stocks were valued on narratives rather than sustainable cash flows. even a small slowdown leads to sharp correction. there is no fresh capital coming in and confidence is broken. this is the right time for companies to act through buybacks and dividends. as warren buffett said, shareholders are rewarded only two ways. directly through dividends and buybacks, and indirectly through growth. most microcap companies do neither. this phase will separate real value creators from value destroyers.
