@MartinaFrammart If the follow the bullet points it could prevent some of the bizarre GOE we’ve seen. But nothing to hold judges accountable. And effortless should be required for +4/5.

The ISU has released a new communication. Now we have a choreographic spin, and each choreographic element provides new scope for judges to manipulate scores. And for the +4 and +5, the elements are no longer required to be effortless. The ISU knows how to destroy a sport.

@Devin_Heroux @cbcsports Can someone explain why they need so much time between the end of Olympics and start of Paralympics? I thought there was less time in some past years (prob flawed memory 😂) but I’ve never understood why so long. Buildings, ice,& snow are there.

There were many Canadian athletes who voiced their concerns over snow conditions at the Paralympics and suggested moving the Games earlier.
I put that question to IPC President Andrew Parsons, about what would have to happen to move the Paralympics.

@mfgus @Amethyst_Eyes93 The deadline was October, 2025. Since bids are still open, it’s unlikely they received anything of value. Moving up the deadline for bids would probably have not done a thing to change that—and in fact, made it worse.

@mfgus Yes. The deadline for withdrawal/substitution is right before the short program draw (which is usually the day before the short program)

@mfgus @Amethyst_Eyes93 It’s a bid process—cities have to want to host—so it’s likely USFS has no bid to make an announcement.
Back when figure skating was more popular, the bids were probably on time and more competitive.

@Devin_Heroux I have wondered why they don’t have some overlap between Olympics & para Olympics in winter games. I think that would be an amazing display of sport —for all — and better conditions. Just a thought. This years 3 week gap seemed like a lot.

We have a rainstorm in Cortina.
It’s pouring directly above the para alpine and snowboard venues.
And they’ve now moved the para snowboard banked slalom finals from Saturday to Friday. Trying to get this all in before there’s no snow left.

By the way, I've talked to enough skaters who have told me that they were very likely (or absolutely) not going to Worlds and they are currently still on the entries list ... so just be prepared folks
