Russian missile and Shahed strikes drown out the efforts of the United States and others around the world to force Russia into peace. For yet another night, instead of a ceasefire, there were massive strikes with Shahed drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. Today was one of the largest attacks on Kyiv. Odesa, Dnipro region, and Chernihiv region were also targeted.
In total, Russia used 315 drones in the attack, including 250 Shaheds, and 7 missiles, 2 of which were North Korean-made ballistic missiles. Residential buildings and urban infrastructure were damaged. In Odesa, even a maternity hospital became a Russian target. Thirteen people were injured. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families.
It is vital that the response to this and other similar Russian attacks is not silence from the world, but concrete action. Action from America, which has the power to force Russia into peace. Action from Europe, which has no alternative but to be strong. Action from others around the world who called for diplomacy and an end to the war – and whom Russia has ignored. There must be strong pressure for the sake of peace.

Back in Kyiv, my first thoughts go to the Ukrainian people. For more than three years, you have stood with admirable courage.
For your land.
For your freedom.
For Europe.
The security of our continent is at stake here.
In the face of Russia’s aggression, our response must be collective. This visit is made jointly with Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
I have three messages.
First, peace.
A just and lasting peace begins with a full and unconditional ceasefire. That is the proposal we are advancing with the United States. Ukraine accepted it on March 11. Russia, however, delays, sets preconditions, plays for time, and continues its war of invasion.
If Moscow continues to obstruct, we will step up the pressure—together, as Europeans and in close coordination with the United States. We welcome President Trump’s call to move forward in this direction.
Our unity is our strength. That too is the meaning of this visit: we all want peace!
Second, sovereignty.
The peace agreement to be built must guarantee Ukraine’s security. That is what we have been working on—in Paris, in London, and now here in Kyiv. We are making progress together.
Finally, the future.
Ukraine is fighting for its people, but also for the European ideal we all believe in. A free, strong, prosperous, and European Ukraine is our goal.
History is watching us.

Our military has captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting as part of the Russian army. This happened on Ukrainian territory—in the Donetsk region. Identification documents, bank cards, and personal data were found in their possession.
We have information suggesting that there are many more Chinese citizens in the occupier's units than just these two. We are currently verifying all the facts—intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are working on it.
I have instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to immediately contact Beijing and clarify how China intends to respond to this.
Russia's involvement of China, along with other countries, whether directly or indirectly, in this war in Europe is a clear signal that Putin intends to do anything but end the war. He is looking for ways to continue fighting. This definitely requires a response. A response from the United States, Europe, and all those around the world who want peace.
The captured Chinese citizens are now in the custody of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Relevant investigative and operational actions are ongoing.
