Sources: The #Seahawks have been engaged in contract negotiations with Geno Smith all week. Seattle was not willing to come to the number Smith desired, while the two sides quietly explored potential destinations. Meanwhile, #Raiders HC Pete Carroll has always been a huge fan of Smith’s, while the two have maintained a friendship even after Carroll left the team. Of note as well: Tom Brady was also onboard with the move to acquire Smith, per multiple sources.
