In other closely watched races, incumbent Republican Scott Reed, who was first elected to the council seat in 2016, is leading Democratic challenger Matt Golden 53%-47%. Marilyn Parker (R), who has served on the council since 2013 is leading Mera Kathryn Corlett (D) 53%-47%.

Cindi Fowler (D) is losing to GOP candidate Crystal Bast (R) 52%- 48%. Fowler was first elected in 2012. Republican Ginny Mulvey-Woolridge is leading Democrat Tyra Thomas-Walker 53%-47% for the seat now held by Madonna Flood (D).

With 96% of precincts in, Republicans are well positioned to pick up seats on the Louisville Metro Council. Rick Blackwell (D) is in a dead heat with challenger Jonathan “JJ” Joseph (R), 50%-50%. Blackwell is an original member of the council created by city-county merger.
