The move comes after an apparent realization among Emirati decision-makers that Pakistan is too important a country to be on the wrong side of.
There is also a shift in the UAE’s policy. Unlike its earlier stance, Abu Dhabi now favors diplomacy to resolve the Iran-US conflict.

Iran's Foriegn Ministry has just confirmed that Tehran, via Islamabad, responded to the US proposals. The Iranian response came yesterday and was already conveyed to the US. Washington's reaction is expected in few hours.

With deadlock persists and Trump contemplates the next move, there is now some clarity where Iran and the US stand in terms of seeking a diplomatic solution to the war. Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency, considered close to the country’s military and security establishment, has now revealed that Washington has placed five conditions in response to Tehran’s proposal for negotiations. Those conditions include no war reparations for Iran, transfer of 400kg enriched uranium to the US, retention of only one Iranian nuclear facility, no release of even 25% of Iran’s frozen assets and negotiations linked to an end to the war on all fronts. Iran, meanwhile, has its own set of conditions that include an end to conflicts across all fronts, particularly Lebanon, lifting of sanctions, return of frozen assets, war compensation, and recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. It is believed that Tehran, via Islamabad, has now responded to the US conditions.
