Gotta love when you are gardening and the Blue Angels practicing for their show in #Harrisburg become a distraction. Video from Friday. Today, the show had intermittent clouds and rain at the conclusion. Tomorrow's forecast promises no rain, so I might break out the 35mm.

Still no blue checkmark. My subscription expired 4/14. I renewed on 4/14. Google Play has my $. @premium tells me no record of me having subscription, ask Google for refund, then resubscribe. Google won't refund $. Tried 2 resubscribe anyway, X says I can't. Already have 1.🙄

They referred me to Apple's help, which is funny because all the earlier threads make it clear I subscribed through Google Pay. Google Pay. ANDif the only solution is Google refunding me.....

I recently renewed my X subscription. Decided that my commitment to my travel blog from here on out warranted keeping Premium +. But, I lost my blue check, am getting ads, can't do long posts nor edit them. @premium tells me 2 ✔️ GooglePlay, but their own system says I paid. 🤨

As our days in #Morocco come to a close, I will miss the daily breakfast game I'll call "Guess The Condiment." Most mornings, in most riads, an amazing array of covered mini tangines appear. Even uncovered, some things are more difficult to guess. A jam? More than one jam? What type? Lack of my morning coffee made this a more difficult game Butter, olive oil, and olives are easy. Amlou, which is Morrocan almond butter with honey, was new to me but became easier to recognize. Then one riad threw me for a loop by serving argan oil. I learned something new--never knew they had food-grade argan oil. Apparently it was much less expensive decades ago, before they began using it for beauty products. #travel #Foodies #travelblogger

Dar Shaan's accommodations & staff in the medina in #Rabat are reasons enough to stay here, but the restaurant goes above and beyond to create a lovely experience. Last night's meal (our first in Morocco): Tagine Poulet (chicken with lemons and olives), Tangine Bouef (beef with prunes and walnuts). An appetizer of savory braywat/brwatte (do I have any idea how to spell this? No.), filled with chicken and vegetables (think samosa). #foodie #foodieheaven #Morocco #travelover50 #travelblogger

NOTES FROM THE ROAD: Rabat, Morocco After a 28-hour travel "day," we made it to #Rabat, Morocco around 5 PM and settled into our riad shortly thereafter. Around 6:40 PM, as the sun was setting, we stepped outside to briefly explore the ancient Medina before dinner. Within a minute or two we were surrounded by a chorus of men's voices, echoing around the deserted Medina alleys, coming from random houses. They rose into a crescendo then stopped. It's Ramadan, which (for most of the population here) means fasting during daylight hours, and breaking fast at sunset with the Iftar meal. It's a family and community event. The prayers to break the fast are called Duas and were what we were hearing. Look at my photos; picture being the only ones standing there, hearing the voices bouncing off all the walls and beautiful doorways. It was a nice welcome to #Morocco. #travel #travelover50

Perfectly spaced plants? Nope! Spotted Garden Eels. We went to #Zoo Basel in #Switzerland this winter, specifically to see their outdoor penguin walk as part of our regional tour of Christmas markets. But I strolled by this indoor exhibit, thinking it was empty and these were plants, somehow amazingly synchronized and planted with an eye for exact spacing. They are Spotted Garden Eels, who generally live in colonies of up to 100. They secrete a mucus that lets them adhere better to the ocean floor. They quickly pull themselves into their burrows when disturbed, thus divers rarely see them. Their posture in the water is dictated by the speed of the currents and which position allows them greater opportunity to eat plankton floating by. No wonder they are known as Garden eels--they look exactly like they were planted in rows! #travel #travelnerd
