Dear @Mortdog While you are enjoying your sabbatical, I need to tell you the tragic tale of a Double Up game that altered the course of history forever. This story is so devastating and tragic that TFT historians will one day refer to it as the fall of the double up duo. It was my 3rd game of the day with @Sl4sh3r51. I was exhausted. Drained. My tiny 5’2 frame had already carried this man through multiple lobbies and my back was hanging on by a thread. I’m pretty sure I’d qualify for workers comp at this point. We load into lobby. EVERYONE is Masters. We are not Masters. Me in the depths of Plat 4 inferno and my partner barely Diamond. The air changed. Suddenly this was no longer a TFT game. This was survival. A test from the heavens themselves. So naturally I think to myself, “this is the game my duo finally carries me.” A beautiful fantasy that I tried to gaslight myself into believing. So I decide to play Diana. I hit Diana + 3 Anima and everything is going according to plan. I’m healthy losing. Perfectly losing. Artistically losing. Picasso himself would’ve admired the streak. The losses were handcrafted like fine art, Moet could’ve painted my board. Then disaster strikes! Melleehh sells their ENTIRE BOARD before fighting me. Not accidentally! On purpose to destroy my loss streak. There I was watching in real time my loss streak end. My anima spot ruined. My economy blown. This tragic event destroying generations of family honor. My bloodline screaming in agony. I was feeling true pain. You know the kind of pain poets write about. The kind of pain sailors feel before being swallowed up by the sea. But the torture was not over! If that wasn’t enough, I get the WORST Arbiter options imaginable. It felt like straight up treason by the TFT gods themselves. I immediately realize Diana is no longer in the cards for me. My dreams? Dead. My hopes? Gone. My LP? Under investigation. At this point a lesser player would have surrendered. Not me. My augment choice finally comes back around. The TFT gods cruel but very merciful looked down upon me and granted me Restart Mission. And do you know what I did? I became the villain. I did not choose peace! I chose vengeance! I pivoted directly into the SAME comp Melleehh was playing. If I was going down I wasn’t going down alone. I had pandoras giving me all the items I needed. I full sent to level 8 and when I came face to face with the enemy again, I destroyed them!! I also added salt to the wound and pinged them. You know who went hand and hand straight to bot 4? Melleehh and their duo and my duo and I. Luckily my duo and I were able to claw our way to 3rd through pure spite, rage, and determination! I did not win LP that game. In fact I lost LP. But I won something greater and it was vengeance. Justice was served.
