Afternoon rant: I don't talk about my history with threats very often but I've lived a good portion of my life having to pay for certain levels of security and still do. Comes with the job, fact of life. Ramifications. Anyway, I believe I have enough experience to mouth off on this subject. Today, I learned that there are still Republican politicians voting a certain way because they are "fearful" about MAGA threats to their lives and their family's lives. The same reasons they voted not to impeach. Threats against public servants are cowardly, sick and repugnant. They're more than a red flag that a democracy is in peril. But this is the age of Trump so those death threats are yeah, routine. Frankly, I would rather my tax dollars go toward 24/7 protective services for families and members of the House and Senate than have them pay for golfing, tanning spray, wigs or ketamine. So my message to Republicans in congress is: "Cut the wussy "I'm scared" crap! Threats come with the job. You could be selling timeshares or bitcoin or all sorts of pyramid stuff but you chose this spotlight. You chose to slap on that make-up and blab on FOX. And most of you are millionaires. Either pony-up or appropriate yourselves some damn security or get out of the game. Stop throwing your oath, the country and especially the lives of people who can't afford protection under the bus in order to selfishly "feel safe".

If the House Republicans pass a funding resolution with an attachment that stops illegal immigrants from voting the burden will be on the Senate Democrats. Are they really so in favor of illegal immigrants voting that they will shut down the government to stop the new federal prohibition.
