China brought ~545 GW of new power generation online in 2025. The U.S. brought ~53 GW. That’s not a typo. China added roughly 10x more new capacity in one year.

70% of Americans think AI is moving too fast. 77% think entire industries will be eliminated. 97% say AI safety should be subject to rules. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time Congress listened to the American people — not just the billionaires pushing it — and regulated AI.

@Jason Same comparison with golf courses. Although there's a difference between potable and non-potable water.

A single AI data center uses as much electricity as 100,000 households—and utility companies are passing the upgrade costs to you, not to the trillion-dollar tech giants. I've opened an investigation. These companies need to pay their costs.

@johnrea It’s not time to give up on Austin. The state can crack down on it to fix it, and the electorate can wake up as they did on the homeless camping policy. This is a boomtown seat of the capitol of Texas - it’s worth fighting for. That said, we do live outside of downtown for now!

It's incredibly sad to see what the 'easy on crime' policies have done to Austin. My wife and I have decided to move, and a huge part of that is that the people running this city care more about violent criminals than the safety of our children. For shame to every one of you who voted for and supported these policies. Have fun with your cesspool once the rest of the productive economic base leaves too.
Joe Lonsdale@JTLonsdale

We could jail a small number of criminals in every blue city and massively reduce crime, making everyone safer. But the left thinks it’s racist to enforce the law. So we all suffer. If your windshield was smashed, or your family hurt by a repeat offender, how would you feel?

Imagine you finally get all the power, control and wealth you dream of. You then buy all the stuff that you salivate over. Toys, homes, experiences. All of it. Okay. Tough Question: Now what? Seriously. After the party gets old: Now what?

You can think of metal atoms as being connected by tiny springs, which means metal can be deformed elastically before the springs break. How does this work? The springs are also made of metal, and so, further springs.

@sf_mills Undermining institutions aside, you don't think new societies (sea steading, floating cities, etc.) would be a net positive? ie a good counter balance for the existing nation states. I for one am extremely grateful that some weirdos a few hundred years ago started 🇺🇸

Undermine institutions so you can start your own country, pick and choose your residents, and issue passports. That’s literally what these folks are after despite all their posturing about parallel education and media.
Emily Mills@sf_mills

“We need to replace the unelected parts of the system as well. Building parallel education, nonprofits, media, unions, and that's what the network state conference is about. Each replacement doesn't have to be a one-to-one but it probably should…” 13/15
