After five innings, Houston allowed a season-high 11 walks amongst its pitching and found itself in a 7-0 deficit to No. 2 Texas.
That became erased with nine unanswered runs, with Tyler Cox’s eighth-inning go-ahead RBI single being the difference in a top-five upset at Schroeder Park Tuesday night.

Kingston Flemings on facing Illinois guard Keaton Wagler Thursday in the Sweet 16 at Toyota Center, after the two shared a historical day of 40-point performances among college basketball freshmen on Jan. 24:
“He plays at his own pace, it’s hard to speed him up. He’s the engine to their offense.”
Also commends his defense and rebounding as a guard, as Wagler averages nearly five boards per game.

Florida’s loss opens up the possibility of UConn moving to the 1 line. Huskies’ 4 point win in the Garden on Dec 9 could be the difference. That would also likely bump Houston out of Houston. Don’t think the Cougs can overtake Florida even if they win today but would be close. We’ll know soon!

NEWS: The Big 12 will be transitioning to a hardwood court for the remainder of the Big 12 tournament. The LED glass basketball court has been greeted with mixed reviews, including feedback that it is slippery.
